The LiShui Ones Who Wait PART 2

When I visited the LiShui Orphanage in January of 2008, on the trip to adopt my 14 year old daughters, Ya Jia also gave me a file for another boy. It is still sitting on my dresser, his file in Chinese. I have been trying to wanting to find a family for him for 2 years. He is Henry who has been on the LWB blog 3 times. (http://www.lwbcommunity.org/henry-hams-it-up)

Here are the others that I know of that need families.

Loving Lishui Kiddos Part 1!

Four years ago, my husband and I adopted a young girl who was 9 from LiShui, Zhejiang. We didn't get to visit the orphanage at that time, but later after an orphanage assistance project was done for this orphanage, the vice director YaJia, asked me to try to find families for two children before they aged out at 14 years. The girl had less than a year and the boy had a little over a year before this would happen. When it was 5 months to the day from the girl's birthday, I called my husband, and the process to adopt Bonnie began.

We got her the day before she turned 14.When we went to China for her, I did get to go visit the orphanage and I met the boy, who at that time had a little over 4 months before he would age out, and I still had not found a family for him. After returning from China, I tried again and a family was found. This boy, now named Michael ended up
in a family just 2 1/2 hours from where I live. Bonnie and Michael have met a few times again since their adoptions, but the latest of these was Friday evening. It was great to see Michael and see how happy he is and how well he is doing. I am so grateful for his family for going for him and for the chance they have given him! It was great to see him, as I hadn't seen him for almost a year and now I was able to communicate better with him than before.

When I was there at the orphanage in Jan. 2008, I also met 2 girls, neither of whom can walk. With blogs on them through LWB, we have been able to find a family for them and they are going to be sisters legally in just a few weeks when there mom goes to get them. I just got these 2 pictures of them. The one of the two girls and the woman show YaJia, the woman who first asked me to find families for Bonnie and Michael.

I still have my work cut out for me, though. There are still 6 or 7 kiddos who I know are at Lishui and they don't have families yet. I am still working on it! Part 2 tomorrow will be a list of where you can see their sweet faces and see if you want to join the group of us Lishui parents by adopting one of these precious kiddos.

A Snuggle for Brett?

Most of you know that I have been to China three times, to adopt 3 daughters. This month is the 4th anniversary of our trip to China where we met Gracie in the capitol city of her province. Hangzhou is a beautiful city in the winter, and I imagine it is gorgeous in the spring.

Two years later, we returned to Hangzhou and adopted another daughter who was from the same orphanage as Gracie. On this second trip to this province, we were able to take a trip to the city where they lived their early lives and visit the orphanage.
There are still several children in this orphanage that I have been advocating for and trying to find families for during the last couple of years. And today, I want to share with you a story about another one that has come to my attention. His name is "Brett".

The winter is coming, and it’s good for sleeping. After lunch, all the kids went to bed. Bretts’s face is red from the warmth of the quilt. He likes sleeping, and loves to bury his head into the quilt. He is a sound sleeper.

When it was time to get up, the kids left the bed one after another except for Brett. He was still sleeping soundly. After some time, a small head appeared out of the quilt and Brett looked at the others confusedly. The nanny helped him put on his clothes, and he sat on the stool with a half-awake mind. After a while he didn’t have any facial expressions, since his mind was not fully clear after the nap. Don’t know how long it took, but Brett finally called “Ayi” ("Aunt"). He woke up fully at last!

Brett was born in November 2009, so he is just past 2 years old. He has some issues with his heart, but isn't he the sweetest little boy!! If you would like to know more about him, please contact Xiaoqing Cai, with BAAS adoption agency: xqcai@comcast.net

I am so hoping that his family will see his sweet face and know that he is their son and hurry, hurry, hurry to get him and take him home to help his little heart and to snuggle in his own warm bed.

Because it IS our problem...

http://www.nogreaterjoymom.com/2011/08/because-it-is-our-problem.html

I just visited this blog. There is an eleven year old girl, who weighs ten pounds. This lady's blog is trying to raise $22,000 to pretty much fund her adoption in hopes that it will allow someone to adopt and help this child. Please consider helping this child...not everyone desires to adopt or can. But anyone can donate a dollar..or 5, or 10???

I can not adopt anymore..says my husband. We already have nine kids...but I will help just a little.

Stefani's Daughters Will Come Home

I heard yesterday that Stefani Ellison, who works for CHI (adoption agency) had almost $5,000 stolen from her home. This money was being saved to help with the adoption costs of bringing home two little girls. These two little girls are both in the same orphanage as 2 of my daughters. I have been there and I have seen both of these girls. No one wants to see them home with Stefani more than I do. I am trying to collect money to help Stefani replace some of what she has lost. For those of you who may not know her, she and her husband have 15 children already. And yet they are still willing to use their resources to bring home 2 little girls, age 11 and 5. And not just any two little girls...neither of these girls can walk.

If Stefani has ever helped you or encouraged you or even amazed you, please consider any amount...even if it is only a dollar if that is all you have...I promise you that every penny of the donations that are made on this site will go to Stefani to help her in this time of such a devastating loss. We love you Stefani.
